They call Miami ‘the Magic City’, and once you set foot here it’s not hard to see why. The way that the cultures and styles of its many immigrants have blended together to create this uniquely vibrant and alluring city is nothing short of astonishing.
Visit Little Havana to get a taste of Cuba without even leaving the USA. Maximo Gomez Park is the best place to see old Cuban men chat, smoke, and play chess, which will transport you back to the old country. Pay a visit to the Little Haiti Cultural Centre to learn more about the history and lifestyles of Miami’s Haitian population (the largest outside of Haiti itself). Lincoln Road Mall is the heart of the city and you haven’t been to Miami if you haven’t walked through here at least a few times.
For beach and nature it has to be Crandon Park. Three miles of golden beach, packed with people enjoying the Florida sun, but also home to tracts of swamp and coastal forest prime for walking and exploring. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a delightful Italian villa which is as gorgeous on the inside as the out, and well worth a visit.
