Saint Lucia is a teeny speck of pure island goodness in the Caribbean sea. It’s one of those places you don’t know much about until you go there, and then you’ll never forget it.

Ok, here’s the basics: it’s a Caribbean island, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It oscillated between British and French rule for centuries but is now an independent nation. The mix of local and European heritage is very evident. French and local Creole are the official languages spoken.

Tourism is St Lucia’s main industry and most visitors come for the luxurious resorts dotted along the coast.

Best bays and beaches to visit during your idyllic Caribbean holiday to St Lucia are Smuggler’s Cove, LaBrellotte Bay, Anse Chastanet, and Sandy Beach. Kite surf, snorkel, scuba (or snuba if you can’t decide on one!), or windsurf. Or just simply enjoy the feel of the crisp white sand between your toes.

If, for some crazy reason, you feel the need to get off the beach for a day, try your hand at mountain biking through the jungle, or zip-line through the canopy for a different perspective! Wander through the Castries Central Market and marvel at all of the delicious fresh food and stock up on authentic souvenirs.
