Head to Black River Gorges National Park for amazing vistas and to be at one with nature. Pointe d’Esny and Blue Bay are the pinnacle of stunning coastal scenery and brilliant blue ocean.

Make sure you visit the Creole mansion of Eureka for a snapshot of Mauritius’ colonial history and the plantation era. For markets you can’t miss Port Louis’ Central Market and the Monday Market in Mahebourg.

When it is time for that relaxing beach day, make your way to Tamarin Beach, or Le Morne Peninsula. For the feeling of a secret beach, head to the as-yet-untouched-by-tourism Le Souffleur outside of Souillac.
