Montreal is Canada’s culture capital. It oozes creativity, whether through the culinary delights being whipped up in the kitchens of the multitude of restaurants, or in the theatre houses and concert halls. Wander the beautiful streets of this crossroads of European class and North American cool to discover your own favourite corners of the city.

Eat, eat, eat. You’d be forgiven for seeing nothing of Montreal but for the insides of cafes, bars and restaurants. If you need to give yourself a break from delicious dining, head up through the stunning Mount Royal Park to Kondiaronk look-out for sweeping views over the city. Whilst up there you’ll come across the architectural highlight of Chalet du Mont Royal (which often hosts live music concerts). 2 kilometres further through the park you’ll find another wonderful viewpoint – Belvedere Camillien-Houde.

The Old Town of Montreal deserves as much time as you can afford to purely just stroll around, taking pictures of the classic cobbled alleyways. Here you’ll also find the Musee d’Archeologie et d’Histoire Pointe-a-Calliere, which is the most fascinating way to learn about the city’s past.

Art lovers can’t miss the Fine Art Musuem (Musee des Beaux-Arts de Montreal), science lovers will be stunned by the cutting-edge Biosphere, and church lovers will be wowed by the Basilique Notre-Dame.
